Rise of Nubia - A Swordsfall Comic
Nubia is easily the coolest boss youll ever have or want to have but you for sure wont fuck off on your job ifyou work for her ahahah
This is a super cool origin story for a really cool character, and the art is richly detailed, and vibrant.
This is a great origin story to an interesting character.
The art and story were great and left me wanting more. I have mixed feelings on the physical comic itself. It looks and feels quite different from a normal comic floppy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just wasn't what I expected.
This is a fantastic comic, great art, great plot, great character development. I want to know more, please make additional entries about Nubia and her crew. I would read an entire run when it becomes available.
This is a story within a story. Nubia is badass and at the end of the story that was told by her crew mates I was left asking "but what else"? I'm left wishing there were more pages or that we had spent more time exploring the events leading up to Nubia's rise to power.
That said, this felt like sitting with a group of friends, drinking, and chatting about how nobody fucks with Nubia. I believed these characters and I felt this energy.
I think the art and layout for this was great as well. The style really sells the energy of what is happen. The comedy is sold through some of the ugliest exaggerations of human proportions- I love it. The dramatic shots held all of my attention. And I had no trouble following the action.
Lastly, I will say that the material used for the physical copy is quality. Honestly, it's almost a detractor because with material of this quality for a cover, I am primed to expect more pages of content, (not that I am going to complain if I end up with a collection of Swordsfall comics to match).
